Emma Roberts Confirmed To Be Dating Cody John After Garrett Hedlund Split

Emma Roberts and Cody John are officially dating. A source told ET that the couple has been dating since the summer and met each other through mutual friends.

"She's been very content with Cody and they're enjoying their relationship and time together," the source told the outlet. "Their friends and family are happy for the both of them and think they make a great couple."

Another source told E! News that Roberts was drawn to John because of his personality. "Emma loves Cody's personality. He's really funny and they have been having a good time together."

Romance rumors involving Roberts and John started to swirl around in August, when John posted on Instagram a black and white photo of him and the "American Horror Stories" actress kissing on a yacht. "Sweet sweet," he captioned the post.

The photo showed Roberts in a bikini as John wrapped his arm around her waist and planted a kiss on her lips. Two other photos also showed the pair hanging out with some friends.

The E! News source said that while Roberts and John are smitten, they want to take things slow in their relationship for the sake of the "Scream Queens" actress's 21-month-old son with ex-boyfriend Garrett Hedlund. "Emma is cautious about bringing her son around new people, but knows the day will come soon."

The news of Roberts' new relationship comes just months after her split from Hedlund. The ex-couple started dating in March 2019 and announced they were expecting the following year. They called it quits after being together for three years but continue to share an amicable relationship as they co-parent their son Rhodes.

On Mother's Day, Hedlund even posted a sweet message dedicated to Roberts, calling her "the most beautiful mother."

"To the most beautiful mother, dear Emma! You gave us a gift who never ceases to melt our hearts, amaze our minds, and make all the anything just fly away, from morning till night," he wrote.

Before dating Hedlund, Roberts had dated "Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" actor Evan Peters on and off for seven years until they parted ways in 2019.
