Emma Roberts-Evan Peters Breakup Rumors: ‘American Horror Story’ Actors End Engagement, Source Says

“American Horror Story” stars Emma Roberts and Evan Peters will not have a happily ever after ending if rumors are true. The television couple have split up after getting engaged a year ago, Just Jared wrote in an exclusive report Friday.

After three years of dating, the Hollywood stars decided to go their separate ways -- but why? The flame in their relationship ultimately went out, a source said. It was “amicable” and they are “still friends.”

“Their three years together just ran its course,” the insider said. “They have so many great memories together but couldn’t make it work in the end. The breakup was amicable -- there was no drama whatsoever.”

The split might not come as a shock to “AHS” fans. The actors supposedly fought on the set of Season 4, “Freak Show,” an insider told OK! magazine in December. The duo had a tumultuous relationship. “Emma and Evan are making out -- that is, if they’re not screaming at each other,” the source said.

Roberts, the daughter of actor Eric Roberts and niece of Julia Roberts, was arrested in 2013 for a domestic violence incident in Canada. She left her then-boyfriend with a bloody nose and bite mark, a source told TMZ at the time. He never filed charges.

“Freak Show” co-star Angela Basset admitted Roberts, 23, was a bit of a free spirit. “Emma is pretty crazy, especially last night. It was she and I till midnight outdoors in the cold,” Bassett said. “She’s pretty funny.”

In Season 4 of “AHS,” Roberts’ character, Maggie Esmerelda, and Peters’ character, Jimmy Darling, dated. It could have been a case of art imitating real life, since Maggie and Jimmy had a tormented relationship.

Roberts is slated to star in “Scream Queens,” which will air on Tuesdays on Fox in the fall.
