Is Emma Roberts Returning For ‘American Horror Story’ Season 5? New ‘Hotel’ Casting Update
The cast of “American Horror Story: Hotel” is growing! Series co-creator Ryan Murphy just revealed that “Coven” and “Freak Show” alum Emma Roberts will be returning for an arc in Season 5 of the FX anthology. Who will she be playing? Believe it or not, that’s still up in the air.
Fans of the 24-year-old actress know that she’s currently filming a brand new dramedy from Murphy for Fox, “Scream Queens.” The niece of Julia Roberts will play Chanel Oberlin, a not-so-nice sorority sister who is not thrilled when her college campus makes her sorority accept everyone … and we mean, everyone. However, that’s the least of her problems when a series of murders occur on the campus.
Fans of the starlet have been wondering if her busy filming schedule would allow an appearance, and it looks like now we have an answer.
“Emma is doing an arc on ‘American Horror Story’ and the end once ‘Scream Queens’ is done,” Murphy told E! Online. “But we haven’t figured it out totally yet.”
Murphy expressed that Roberts has an interest in maintaining a part on the series, which is good since all the seasons somehow connect to one another. But Roberts’ arc won’t be a big one. The series co-creator confirmed that she’ll “probably two episodes.”
But that’s not the only exciting part. Zap2It reports that Roberts will play opposite Evan Peters, her recent ex-fiancé.
For those that haven’t been closely following Emma Roberts’ love life, she and Peters reportedly split up after three years of dating. Although they got engaged a year ago, a source told Just Jared that their relationship “ran its course.” However, if the insider is right, the pair ended things on an amicable note. In previous seasons, the pair has engaged in romantic plotlines. If the show follows that trend, “American Horror Story: Hotel” hopefully won’t be too awkward for the two.
Besides Peters, Emma Roberts will join "American Horror Story" Season 5 cast members Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Lady Gaga Max Greenfield, Cheyenne Jackson, Denis O’Hare, Sarah Paulson, Chlöe Sevigny and Finn Wittrock.
