England, if not Europe, Could Witness the Beckham Era Yet Again – Courtesy Tottenham
If rumors are to be believed, David Beckham will be back in England to play in the Premier League next summer with Tottenham, as his current contract with American club LA Galaxy is set to expire. The Englishman is also aware of the fact that French club PSG is ready with a big-money offer, should he choose to join them.
Beckham, 36, is said to want to be a part of Britain's Olympic Games team next summer and as many as eight English clubs will look to offer him a return ticket to Premier League football next year. However, the player's advisers have said that Beckham will not switch to any club which is not competing for major honors. This means that White Hart Lane may be his preferred destination.
Spurs, however, will not be able to provide him with a guarantee of a first team place. This could be something that Beckham is already aware of, which in turn encouraged Spurs to actually make the offer. The club's manager, Harry Redknapp, has praised Beckham on occasions and even spoken about his influence in dressing rooms while also saying that he cannot guarantee the player a first team place.
David Beckham started his senior career with Manchester United where he scored 61 times in 266 appearances. He later moved to Real Madrid where he played 116 games, scoring 13 times. He has made 74 appearances for his current club Los Angeles Galaxy and has managed to score 11 times.
