England - Spain: Prediction, Preview and Probable Lineups for Saturday's Friendly at Wembley

Two elite European powers meet on Saturday when England host 2010 World Cup champions Spain in a friendly at Wembley Stadium.

England manager Fabio Capello has named Frank Lampard the captain, replacing John Terry, who will return as captain for Tuesday's match against Sweden.

It will be my proudest moment in an England shirt, said Lampard, 33, who wore the captain's armband once before. To be at the home ground will be a very special moment and I am delighted.

The Three Lions face a particularly strong Spain squad. Vicente del Bosque's squad is currently atop the FIFA rankings, and haven't suffered a loss or draw since a friendly on Aug. 10, when the fell to Italy, 2-1, in Bari.

However, some have questioned the work ethic of Spain for friendlies. Del Bosque will still have a talented collection of starters, and may call upon reserve players who are eager to prove themselves, like midfielder Juan Mata, as well as Jesus Navas, and Nacho Monreal.

Midfielder Javi Martinez will be unavailable due to a thigh injury. His presence may not be missed, as Spain boasts perhaps the best midfield in the world.

Spain is also loaded with great goalkeepers. Iker Casillas, who made his Spain debut over 11 years ago, is expected to be in goal for the record-equalling 126th time.

England had little trouble qualifying for Euro 2012, and will be playing their first match since the infamous red card to Wayne Rooney against Montenegro.

Saturday's match will be an opportunity for Capello to experiment with less experienced players. Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck has proven that he deserves his high-profile role with the Premier League titan, and can expect to see action against Spain.

Tottenham full back Kyle Walker has also provided solid play, and should be a player to watch for. With the absence of Wayne Rooney, Chelsea star Daniel Sturridge can expect to play a prominent role against Spain.

Capello will be without injured Gabriel Agbonlahor, which means Darren Bent could be the lone striker. Agbonlahor reportedly suffered a hamstring strain on Thursday, and returned to Aston Villa.

Joe Hart will be back in goal for England, and the Manchester City star has yet to record a loss in 14 matches.

PREDICTION: Will Spain's top players take this match seriously? The talent-rich squad will have plenty of firepower on the bench if the starters look sluggish, and del Bosque won't hesitate to turn to them early no matter what the score. Lampard should be inspired by being name captain, and the Chelsea veteran will likely make sure that Sturridge and Bent get touches.
