Ennis house - the mansion designed by US architect Frank Lloyd Wright that was used as a backdrop for movies like Blade Runner and TV show Buffy, the Vampire Slayer - has been put on the market for $15 million.

The 6,000-square-foot Los Angeles estate is being sold by the nonprofit Ennis House Foundation. The house recently underwent a restoration project after years of damage and decay.

The house, which was built using Mayan-inspired concrete blocks in 1924, was for Charles and Mabel Ennis, the owners of a men's clothing store. The house was the last and largest of four homes that Wright designed in an experimental textile block style.

Eric Lloyd Wright, the architect's grandson and a member of the Foundation believes that private ownership of the house be the best way to save the house and honor his grandfather's intentions.

My grandfather designed homes to be occupied by people, he said in a statement to The Times. His homes are works of art. He created the space, but the space becomes a creative force and uplifts when it is lived in every day.

Ennis's other big screen appearances include the films “Black Rain”, “The Karate Kid III” and 1975's “The Day of the Locust.”

It was used in an episode of animated TV series South Park as the base for a Chinese gang.

Wright, who died in 1959, was one of the world's most prolific architects.
