EPA promotes clean energy on Earth Day
The U.S. government's Environmental Protection Agency is marking the celebration of Earth Day 2009 on Wednesday by promoting the use of clean energy sources.
The Environmental Protection Agency urges on its website that people take action and participate in civic events to defend three principles: "a carbon-free future based on renewable energy, responsibility of individuals for their energy consumption and creation of a new '˜green economy.''
Also on Wednesday EPA chief Lisa Jackson will attend a hearing on a climate bill which will decide the on major changes to U.S. renewable policy in the years to come.
