Eric Decker Wedding: Denver Broncos Star Marries Jessie James, Country Music Singer [PHOTOS]
The National Football League has a new “It” couple. Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker married country music singer Jessie James on Saturday after two years of dating.
Decker and James celebrated their wedding in a lavish ceremony in Castle Rock, Colo., E! Online reports. The couple got married in front of their closest friends and family, and James' stepfather escorted the country music singer down the aisle.
James shared several photos of the nuptials -- including pictures of her dress, wedding ring, and new husband -- to her Instagram account. One photo, which featured the newlyweds’ first dance, was captioned, “My dream come true.”
The latest NFL power couple met in storybook fashion. In 2011, James sang the national anthem before the Broncos’ game against the New York Jets, USA Today’s For The Win blog notes. Hours later, Tim Tebow led Denver to a ferocious comeback victory, sparking the Tebowmania craze -- and a budding romance.
Decker and James met through a mutual friend and began talking to each other over the phone. By April 1, 2012, the couple had become engaged. At the time, James acknowledged the engagement on Twitter, writing, “We are blessed to have found each other and to have supporters like you all."
The 25-year-old rising country music star is best known for her eponymously named 2009 debut album, “Jessie James,” which peaked at 23 on the U.S. Billboard 200. Meanwhile, Decker enjoyed a breakout season in 2012, recording 85 catches for 1,064 yards and 13 touchdowns after linking up with new Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.
Can’t get enough of the Decker-James wedding? The newlyweds will be a featured on a new series called “Love And Other Contact Sports,” set to premiere on E! in late summer 2013.
