‘Everywhere’ Singer Michelle Branch Gets Engaged To Black Keys Drummer Patrick Carney On Her 34th Birthday
Michelle Branch got engaged to her boyfriend, Patrick Carney, on her 34th birthday.
A day after her big birthday bash, the “Everywhere” singer posted a photo of her engagement ring via her Instagram account. In her caption, the singer said that she has nothing more to ask for after she blew out her candles and was asked the important question by her boyfriend.

According to Billboard, Branch and Carney first worked together in 2015 to co-produce the former’s latest album, “Hopeless Romantic,” which was released this year. “Hopeless Romantic” served as Branch’s first full-length album since the 2003 release of “Hotel Paper.” While speaking with the publication in March, Branch said that halfway through creating her album, she and Carney realized that they were already falling in love. Carney has previously been married twice, and Branch just got divorced from Teddy Landau last year. The singer shares an 11-year-old daughter with her estranged husband.
Branch also talked about Carney’s involvement in “Hopeless Romantic” and said that the album wouldn’t have been possible if not for him. “This record wouldn’t have seen the light of day had he not been involved. Pat has said, ‘I remember seeing you on MTV in the early 2000s and thinking you were really cute.’ It’s like why couldn’t we have just met each other in our 20s? We would have saved so much heartache!” she said.
Branch rose to fame after the release of “Everywhere” in 2001. Her other songs include “Goodbye to You,” “Are You Happy Now?” “All You Wanted,” “Breathe,” “Loud Music,” “Sooner or Later,” “You Set Me Free,” “Crazy Ride,” “I’d Rather Be In Love,” “If Only She Knew,” “Sweet Misery” and more.
In April, Branch sat down for an interview with Elle and said that she has gained more control over her music in “Hopeless Romantic” compared to the songs she released 14 years ago. Carney also said that if Branch was a guy, this wouldn’t have happened to her in the music industry. “The worst that can happen is that you finish this album and you get dropped. But for your emotional well-being, you need to make it and get on with your life,” he said.
