  • Mia Khalifa called out Shakira for doing the "bare minimum" to help Beirut explosion victims
  • This came after Shakira announced that she was partnering with Zuhair Murad on a T-shirt to raise relief funds
  • The former porn star previously criticized the singer for staying silent following the devastating blast

Former adult star Mia Khalifa is not impressed with Shakira's “bare minimum” effort to aid the victims of the Beirut blast after slamming the singer weeks earlier for staying silent about the devastating incident.

After Shakira revealed Thursday that she was collaborating with Zuhair Murad to raise relief funds for Beirut, Khalifa took to Instagram to express just what she thought about the singer's announcement.

“Shakira really said ‘the bare minimum. Yes, I’ll do that,’” the former porn star wrote on her Instagram Story.

In the post, Khalifa included an image of Shakira wearing the white “Rise From The Ashes” T-shirt from the Lebanese fashion designer's fundraising campaign, along with a graphic that says, “We can do better.”

Khalifa's post comes after Shakira announced on Instagram that all proceeds from the limited edition tee will go straight to the Lebanese Red Cross and Offre Joie, two organizations that are “on the ground responding to humanitarian needs for the people of Beirut” following the Aug. 4 blast.

Shakira joins the likes of Sofia Vergara, Alessandra Ambrosio and Courteney Cox, who all partnered with the designer for the T-shirt campaign, Esquire reported.

“In these difficult times, the only way for me to move forward is by helping in any way that I can, so I have launched a fundraising T-Shirt campaign,” Murad said.

Earlier this month, Khalifa blasted Shakira for refusing to speak up regarding the explosions in Beirut, pointing out that the “half Lebanese” singer and her family go to Lebanon for vacations. The former porn star called out Shakira, saying, “[You] have remained silent this entire time they’ve needed your world influence most?”

“Not even your money, just your voice to raise awareness and help people understand the gravity of this tragedy,” Khalifa added in a screenshot of Shakira’s Instagram profile, which boasts over 67 million followers.

Shakira, whose paternal grandparents were from Lebanon, has never been shy about her roots. In fact, she embraces her heritage by incorporating it into her music, including her performance with Jennifer Lopez at the Super Bowl LIV halftime show in February.

The social media star, meanwhile, did her part in spreading awareness and raising relief funds by auctioning off her infamous glasses on eBay, which fetched more than $100,000. All the proceeds went to the Lebanese Red Cross.

More recently, Khalifa has also started raising funds to benefit Beirut explosion victims through Cameo, where she grants fans' requests for $300.
