- The ex-porn star is also dealing with this mental health problem
- Khalifa turned off Instagram comment years ago due to the backlash she received from critics
Mia Khalifa left another helpful post for people with anxiety by sharing easy-to-follow steps on what people can do when feeling anxious.
Khalifa shared dlcanxiety's post in her Instagram Story that featured a flow chart aiming to help people deal with their emotions when feeling anxious. The chart starts with the question "Are you feeling anxious?" and asks several other questions. Depending on one's responses, it offers several suggestions on what to do to feel better. For instance, it recommends breathing exercises, eating good meals, and repeating positive affirmations to one's self.
This isn’t the first time the ex-porn star talked about anxiety. Earlier this month, Khalifa penned a lengthy message on Instagram for those who were experiencing mental health problems. She shared how she deals with the same issue.
"A symptom of anxiety that’s not commonly talked about is difficulty starting/ watching/ reading/ listening to anything new," she wrote.
"I fear the unknown and rewatching is the only time I can actually relax, unclench my shoulders, and enjoy the art. The anxiousness of 'what comes next. Will I like it. Will it make me sad. Will it be worth it.' all goes away when I’m re-watching, and that’s okay. Things based on true events/books are even better for my brain because there’s rarely surprise ending," she added.
At the time she shared the post, she said she woke up with an "overwhelming sense of irrational impending doom," so she turned to her "visual comfort blanket" by "rewatching things constantly."
"The point of this post is if you have #anxiety and you re-watch things constantly -- lean into it. Use it to your advantage as a grounding tool," she concluded.
The sports commentator is invested in helping people with anxiety because she is also experiencing the same. Khalifa has received an intense backlash due to her short stint in the porn industry. She left the adult entertainment industry in 2015 but many still criticize her for it.
It came to a point when Khalifa had to turn off the comment section on her Instagram account due to the non-stop criticisms she received.
“I’ve had my comments turned off to the public for the last year because they were flooded with hate,” the actress shared on Instagram.
“It was to the point where I never saw anything that wasn’t a direct shaming of my past, and it was affecting my mental health, as well as my marriage, from all the constant reminders.”
In June, Khalifa shared that she loved TikTok because the online users there are more friendly. In her interview with Mashable, she said that she really enjoyed the platform.
