Exclusive Apple Pay On Web Discounts, Offers Announced; Apple's Mobile Payments Service Expands In Australia
Apple is already imbibing the holiday spirit as it announced Tuesday morning the exclusive discounts and offers for users of Apple Pay on the web ahead the holiday season. This promotion is seen as the Cupertino giant’s way of enticing more customers to its online mobile payments service.
In its notification for the exclusive holiday promo, Apple noted that when customers shop online with Apple Pay on the Safari browser, they can obtain perks such as discounts on subscriptions and free shipping on items from certain brands.
MacRumors reports Adidas shoppers can enjoy one- or two-day free shipping when they use Apple Pay on the web. The same benefit is given to 1-800-FLOWERS shoppers. Gift cards worth $50 will be given to Casper, Grubhub and Seamless customers. For Casper, the gift card is given after purchasing a mattress. For the latter two, the gift card is good for the owner and a friend. First-time diners will also avail a $10 discount on their next order.
For users who are paying their one-year subscription to The New York Times using Apple Pay, they can avail a 50 percent off discount. On the other hand, JackThreads shoppers can enjoy 20 percent off of the great holiday looks, while first-time shoppers of Instacart can take advantage of free Instacart delivery for a month.
Other offers are available from Jet, Lululemon, Overstock, Shopify, Spring and Vacatia. Apple has also specified that more deals from Abercrombie & Fitch, Caviar, Hollister, Under Armour, Bank of America, Warby Parker, Poshmark, The Washington Post, Tumi and Chase are arriving soon. All of the exclusive promos are going to be valid in the U.S. only.
The web-based Apple Pay promos come in the wake of the mobile payment service’s expansion in Australia despite the efforts of the big-three banks in the country to prevent Apple Pay’s proliferation in the region. AppleInsider has learned that a deal with payments solutions firm Cuscal is giving the payment service support for 31 credit unions and regional banks.
The list of banks and credit unions that will soon be accessible via Apple Pay include: Bank Australia, Bank of Sydney, Beyond Bank Australia, Big Sky Building Society, CAPE Credit Union, Central West Credit Union, Illawarra Credit Union, Community First Credit Union, Credit Union Australia and Credit Union SA.
Defence Bank, EECU, First Option Credit Union, Goldfields Money, Goulburn Murray Credit Union Co-Op, Holiday Coast Credit Union, Horizon Credit Union, Intech Credit Union, Laboratories Credit Union, My State Bank, Northern Inland Credit Union and People’s Choice Credit Union are also part of the list.
Finally, Police Bank, QT Mutual Bank, Select Encompass Credit Union, South West Slopes Credit Union, Sydney Credit Union, Teachers Mutual Bank, The Mac (Macarthur Credit Union), Warwick Credit Union and Woolworths Employees’ Credit Union are also getting Apple Pay support with the new deal.
