‘The Exorcist’ Ratings Drop In Week 6 May Result To FOX TV Series' Cancellation?
The fate of “The Exorcist” still hangs in the balance as the show’s ratings continue to drop week after week.
According to TV By the Numbers, the latest episode of “The Exorcist” dropped a tenth to a 0.6 (1.83 million viewers) on FOX. This marks the lowest rating for the show since it premiered on Sept. 23. For the past three weeks, “The Exorcist” has been receiving a 0.7 rating, which is also not impressive. As of late, the series already has eight confirmed episodes, but it is unclear if it will still be renewed.
Meanwhile, “The Exorcist” episode 7 will see the Rance family continuing their search for Casey (Hannah Kasulka). The young girl’s absence is causing the family to fall apart so it becomes more difficult for the family to discuss what they are supposed to do. To make things worse, the Rance family’s neighbors will find out the truth about Casey’s disappearance. Initially, they were told that Casey had been kidnapped, but she’s actually possessed by the demon.
Elsewhere, Father Marcus (Ben Daniels) will reach out to Mother Bernadette (Deanna Dunagan) for help with his latest problem. Previously, Father Marcus vowed to never perform exorcism again after a young boy died when he tried to help him. However, he couldn’t refuse Father Tomas’ (Alfonso Herrera) request.
Additionally, Father Bennet (Kurt Egyiawan) will probe into the Tattersall vans that have been roaming around their neighborhood. In the previous episode, the vans carried some people who broke into houses to collect kill and collect organs.
“The Exorcist” episodes 7 to 10 will also center on Marcus’ struggles and his contribution in helping the Rances find Casey. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Jeremy Slater said that Marcus and Casey will eventually get into a fight while the latter is still possessed.
“The Exorcist” episode 7 will air on FOX on Nov. 11 at 9 p.m. ET.
