'Expendables 2' Star Jean-Claude Van Damme Claims Affair With Kylie Minogue, 'Beautiful Lovemaking' During 'Street Fighter'
Action star Jean-Claude Van Damme is known for his martial arts moves, but it's his moves in the bedroom that made waves when the actor recently recalled his affair with "Street Fighter" co-star Kylie Minogue.
Van Damme was promoting "The Expendables 2" when an interview with The Guardian turned to Minogue, the Australian pop star whom the Belgian muscleman says he bedded while they made "Street Fighter" on location in Thailand.
"Oh ... who said that to you?" Van Damme asked The Guardian's Alex Godfrey, apparently forgetting that the actor revealed the fling in a prior interview. "I tell you what, you should ask her," he says, shirking it. "She'll have a better memory. I'm 51 years old. Do you know how much I was punched in the face on The Expendables? No, no. No. And let's just say it happened, so what? Who wants to know?"
Van Damme said the sexual attraction between him and Minogue heated up while the two were filming "Street Fighter" in Thailand. The actor said he's familiar with the country as an action star and showed Minogue around.
"Yes. OK. Yes, yes, yes. It happened. I was in Thailand, we had an affair," Van Damme told The Guardian. "Sweet kiss, beautiful lovemaking. It would be abnormal not to have had an affair, she's so beautiful and she was there in front of me every day with a beautiful smile, simpatico, so charming, she wasn't acting like a big star. I knew Thailand very well, so I showed her my Thailand. She's a great lady."
Minogue has not confirmed the claimed affair.
In the same interview, Van Damme said he wants to break his action star mold and star in films with big-name directors.
"I'm trying to be a better actor," he said. "It's sad. I would love to be directed by people like Tony and Ridley Scott, Scorsese, all those guys, that would be my dream."
"The Expendables 2," which features fellow action stars Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li and Bruce Willis, hits theaters Friday.
