'Fahrenheit 11/9,' Michael Moore’s Trump Documentary, Could Get America ‘Out Of This Mess’

Award winning documentary film maker Michael Moore has been preparing and shooting for a new documentary about President Donald Trump, titled "Fahrenheit 11/9," reports said Tuesday.

Producers Harvey and Bob Weinstein announced that they have secured worldwide rights to the film and it will be sold internationally during this year’s Cannes film festival. Harvey Weinstein has worked with Moore earlier on his controversial 2004 George W. Bush documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11."

The name has been adapted to refer to the day after the Nov. 8 election when Trump was declared president-elect and it also sounds quite similar to the previous one about George W. Bush.

Moore has secretly been working on the documentary film for months and has claimed that it would be explosive.

"No matter what you throw at him, it hasn’t worked," Moore said in a statement. "No matter what is revealed, he remains standing. Facts, reality, brains cannot defeat him. Even when he commits a self-inflicted wound, he gets up the next morning and keeps going and tweeting."

"That all ends with this movie," Moore said his statement, according to Rolling Stone.

The Weinsteins are reportedly set to begin marketing the film to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival, which begins, Wednesday, May 17. The famous producers promised that the new documentary will "present a story line unlike any that is currently being told."

"Fahrenheit 9/11" was a massive hit and it won the "Palme D'or" at Cannes and also eventually went on to become the highest-grossing documentary of all time.

"Fahrenheit 11/9" will be Moore’s second documentary film on Trump, after his surprise 2016 movie called "Moore in Trumpland." He released this film shortly before the November election and it was a one-man show. The 73-minute long feature documented a live show Moore had performed last October in Wilmington, Ohio, which was the seat of Clinton County, and it showed that the county ended up voting enormously for Trump.

The official description of "Moore in Trumpland" reads: "See the film Ohio Republicans tried to shut down. Oscar-winner Michael Moore dives right into hostile territory with his daring and hilarious one-man show, deep in the heart of Trumpland in the weeks before the 2016 election."

Moore made a prediction in his earlier film warning all liberals that Trump was going to win the election. He released the film just days after the completion of his shooting and marketed it across theaters and various other platforms. It was released on Oct. 19 last year.

Along with "Fahrenheit 11/9," Moore has also been preparing for his Broadway debut, "The Terms of My Surrender."

Director Michael Mayer is managing the show, which is scheduled to begin previews on July 28 and then open on Aug 10.

"I think what the world needs right now is Michael Moore standing on a Broadway stage sharing his hilarious stories and incendiary political perspective, creating the kind of dialogue that can only happen in the theater," Mayer had said about the show earlier this month.

In an interview with the New York Times, Moore said: "It’s a humorous play about a country that’s just elected a madman — I mean, there’s really no other way to put it," adding: "We’re 10 blocks from Trump Tower, we’re in the corporate capital of America, we’re in the financial capital of America, we’re in the media capital of America... If one was going to stand on a stage and do the things that I’m going to do, there’s only one place to do it, and it’s here in this city and it’s right here at the epicenter of creative expression and free speech."
