Fall TV 2014 Preview: Catch Up On Your Favorite TV Shows With Netflix New Releases
The fall television season is almost upon us -- but what if you’re not up to date on your favorite show? Fret not, because Netflix has you all set for the fall TV premieres. The streaming service is adding the latest seasons of the hottest TV shows in time for you to binge watch before the 2014 premieres. Check out the list below (in the order of release dates).
“Criminal Minds”: Season 9 available now
Season 9 of “Criminal Minds” is available for streaming on Netflix. Season 10 will premiere on CBS Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 9 p.m. EDT. The Season 10 premiere will find the Behavioral Analysis Unit team investigating a series of murders that have “left the victims unidentifiable.” Jennifer Love Hewitt will join the show as agent Kate Callahan.
“From Dusk Till Dawn”: Season 1 available now
“From Dusk Till Dawn” was picked up for a 13-episode second season on El Rey Network. No premiere date is set yet.
“Parenthood”: Season 5 available now
“Parenthood” will return to NBC for its sixth and final season Thursday, Sept. 25, at 10 p.m. EDT. The new season will answer some huge questions -- including the Season 5 pregnancy cliffhanger.
“Scandal”: Season 3 available now
“Scandal” returns for its fourth season on ABC Thursday, Sept. 25, at 9 p.m. EDT. Season 4 will welcome some new faces and deal with the fallout of Olivia’s departure and Harrison’s death.
“Sherlock”: Season 3 available now
The third season of BBC’s Emmy award-winning series is available on Netflix now. However, no Season 4 premiere date has been set yet. Filming will reportedly begin in January 2015.
“Once Upon a Time”: Season 3 available now
Catch up on Season 3 of ABC’s hit fairytale drama, “Once Upon a Time,” now. The third season was made available for streaming on Netflix Aug. 29, and Season 4 is set to premiere Sunday, Sept. 28, at 8 p.m. EDT. The new season will welcome Elsa, Anna and Kristoff of Disney’s 2013 hit animated movie, “Frozen.”
“Revenge”: Season 3 available now
Season 3 of “Revenge” was made available on Netflix Aug. 29. Season 4 will premiere Sunday, Sept. 28, at 10 p.m. EDT, introducing viewers to a new villainous Emily Thorne.
“Californication”: Seasons 1-7 available starting Sept. 1
Showtime’s “Californication” ended this past June. The entire series will be available on Netflix starting Sept. 1.
“Chasing UFOs”: Season 1 available starting Sept. 1
The first season of the National Geographic series will be available starting Sept. 1.
“Doomsday Preppers”: Seasons 1-3 available starting Sept. 1
Seasons 1-3 of National Geographic’s “Doomsday Preppers” will be available starting Sept. 1. Season 4 premiered on July 24.
“Hinterland”: Season 1 available starting Sept. 1
Season 1 of the BBC series will be available starting Sept. 1.
“Unsealed: Alien Files”: Season 1 available starting Sept. 1
The Destination America series airs on Thursdays at 10 p.m. EDT. Season 1 will be available for streaming on Netflix starting Sept. 1.
“Zero Hour”: Seasons 1-3 available starting Sept. 1
Seasons 1-3 of “Zero Hour” will be available on Netflix starting Sept. 1. Unfortunately, ABC canceled the series in March 2013.
“The League”: Season 5 available starting Sept. 2
Season 5 of “The League” will be available on Netflix starting Sept. 2 -- one day before Season 6 premieres on FXX Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 10 p.m. EDT.
“Trailer Park Boys”: Season 8 available starting Sept. 5
Netflix picked up Season 8 of “Trailer Park Boys,” which actually ended a couple of years ago. The season will be available for streaming starting Sept. 5.
“The Blacklist”: Season 1 available starting Sept. 7
Netflix just signed a deal with NBC to acquire Season 1 of the series for $2 million per episode. Season 2 will premiere Sept. 22 at 10 p.m. EDT.
“Crash and Bernstein”: Season 2 available starting Sept. 10
Season 2 of Disny XD’s “Crash and Bernstein” will be available starting Sept. 10, but a third season might not be in the works.
“About a Boy”: Season 1 available starting Sept. 14
Season 1 of the NBC comedy will be available Sept. 14, a month before Season 2 premieres Oct. 14 at 9:30 p.m. EDT. Season 2 will kick off with Will living in New York. However, something will drive him back to San Francisco.
“Arrow”: Season 2 available starting Sept. 14
Season 2 of “Arrow” will make its way to Netflix on Sept. 14, a few weeks before Season 3 premieres on The CW Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. EDT.
“Bones”: Season 9 available starting Sept. 16
Season 9 of “Bones” will be available on Netflix starting Sept. 16, a few days before Season 10 premieres on Fox Thursday, Sept. 25. The new season will find Brennan struggling to get Booth out of jail for a crime he did not commit.
“New Girl”: Season 3 available starting Sept. 16
Season 4 of “New Girl” will premiere on Fox Tuesday, Sept. 16, the same day that Season 3 becomes available on Netflix.
“Parks and Recreation”: Season 6 available starting Sept. 26
Prepare for the seventh and final season of “Parks and Recreation” by binging on Season 6 starting Sept. 26. No premiere date is set for Season 7, but fans can expect Natalie Morales, Megan Mullaly and Rachel Dratch to appear.
“How I Met Your Mother”: Season 9 available starting Sept. 26
The ninth and final season of “How I Met Your Mother” will reportedly be available on Netflix starting Sept. 26.
“The Walking Dead”: Season 4 available starting Sept. 28
Catch up on AMC’s “The Walking Dead” with Season 4 Sept. 28. Season 5 will premiere Sunday, Oct. 12, introducing a whole new threat at Terminus. The premiere is titled, “No Sanctuary.”
“The Vampire Diaries”: Season 5 available starting Oct. 2
Season 5 of “The Vampire Diaries” will reportedly be available on Netflix the same day that Season 6 premieres on The CW: Oct. 2. Catch up on the Mystic Falls drama, including the Season 5 finale deaths of two major characters.
