Fall TV Premiere Dates 2017: ‘Black-ish,’ ‘The Middle’ Start Tuesday, Oct. 3
Tuesday’s premieres are all about the laughs. Several new and returning comedies will premiere.
“Black-ish” is one of ABC’s most loved family sitcoms, and Season 4 will kick off on a new night with guest star Aloe Blac. The musician will help Dre (Anthony Anderson) create a song to teach listeners about a black holiday after Dre is upset by an inaccurate school play about Columbus Day.
ABC’s laugh-worthy lineup kicks off with the final season premiere of “The Middle.” Fresh off his trip from Europe, Axl (Charlie McDermott) is pretty relaxed but Mike (Neil Flynn) wants him to get it together and start job hunting. Meanwhile, Brick (Atticus Shaffer) wants to breakup with Cindy (Casey Burke).
“Fresh Off The Boat” Season 4 will start Tuesday with the Huangs moving in with Honey (Chelsey Crisp) and Marvin (Ray Wise). Jessica (Constance Wu) will also get a chance to compete on “Wheel of Fortune” while Michael Bolton offers to help out at the restaurant.
It isn’t just a night of returning comedies, of course. ABC is also launching a new program called “The Mayor.” Aspiring rapper Courtney Rose (Brandon Micheal Hall) runs for mayor as a publicity stunt, but after his passionate speeches prove how much he actually cares about the town, he wins the election. Now he has to figure out how he can really help his beloved hometown. Yvette Nicole Brown and Lea Michele also star.
Dramedy “Kevin (Probably) Saves The World” will kick off on Oct. 3 as well. The show follows Kevin (Jason Ritter), a man who is down on his luck, after an angel from God tells him he must save the world. “Marvel’s Agent Carter” showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters are writing while JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Chloe East and Kimberly Hebert Gregory co-star.
For a little more drama, try “Queen Sugar.” The Ava DuVernay-produced series will kick off with Darla (Bianca Lawson) sharing her engagement news, but don’t expect too much happiness. Violet’s (Tina Lifford) condition is getting worse. Meanwhile, Charley (Dawn-Lyen Gardner) gets an unexpected visit from her mother.
Reality fans always have a premiere to look forward to as well. “Ink Master: Angels” is a new spinoff that will show four Season 8 alums — Ryan Ashley, Kelly Doty, Nikki Simpson and Gia Rose — traveling the country to compete against the top tattoo artists. In the premiere, they’ll head to Las Vegas.
