Boston Celtics rookie Tacko Fall sets a new Maine Red Claws team record when they faced Memphis Hustle on Monday. Though they absorbed their first loss of the season, his performance won’t be as quiet as his demeanor.

The 7-foot-6 Fall finished with a double-double of 18 rebounds, 16 points, and a block. His 18 total rebounds included 14 from the offensive side which is a new franchise record. Prior to the game, former Red Claws James Mays and Chris Wright set the bar for the Celtics’ G-League affiliate for most offensive rebounds in a single game with 12 boards.

His 14 offensive boards are also the most offensive rebounds by a single player this G-League season. The big man out of the University of Central Florida is currently ranked seventh in rebounds per game with 10.7 while topping everybody by a hairline in offensive rebounds per outing with 4.8.

Red Claws announced the historic feat on their social media accounts and their announcement added up to the clamor of fans to have him called up to the NBA again.

On the defensive end, Tacko is ranked fourth in blocked shots a game with 2.7, just behind Kyle Alexander, Norvel Pelle, and Kenny Wooten.

Dusty Hannahs led the charge for the Hustle with 28 points, four assists, and three steals while Josh Jackson, whose Memphis teammates are rallying behind him using the #FreeJoshJackson movement per Sports Illustrated reports, finished with 23 points, five rebounds, five steals, an assist, and a block.

With Tremont Waters called up by the Celtics and Romeo Langford not playing, guard Trey Davis led the Crustaceans in scoring with 19 points but needed 15 shots to reach the output. He added it with eight boards, and six assists. Yante Maten chipped in 18 points and 12 rebounds for the visiting Red Claws.
