The story of “Fantastic Beasts 3” will set up an eventual “massive war” in the wizarding world with a World War II backdrop. Cast member Dan Fogler, who will be reprising his role as Jacob Kowalski, has read the script and he teased some details about the plot in a recent interview.

While speaking with SYFY Wire, Fogler said that the upcoming film has a “very similar feel of the first film.” He added that the “character development is really lovely.”

As far as the plot is concerned, Fogler said that the threequel will lead the audience towards a “massive war with the backdrop of World War II.” The actor teased that the fans can expect to see some “epic battles” in the future.

The main plot of the prequel movies to “Harry potter” are about how Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) spread hatred amongst the wizards and started a war. This war will also have a spill over effect in the muggle world that will culminate into World War II.

Filming of “Fantastic Beasts 3” was supposed to star this month, but the production has been delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic, Screen Rant reported. The release of the upcoming film was previously pushed back after the backlash from the fans for the sequel.

The production delay was supposed to give the filmmakers a chance to make things right and save the franchise. The coronavirus pandemic has now led to further delay in the start of filming, which may have an effect on the release date.

The first film was based in New York City and the sequel took the fans to Paris. Now, the upcoming film will be based in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Deadline reported. The plot is expected to focus on Grindelwald training Credence (Ezra Miller) for the coming war.

“Fantastic Beasts 3” is scheduled to be released on Nov. 12, 2021.
