‘Fargo’ Season 2 Spoilers: Premiere Promo Photos Released; Check Out 6 Images From Episode 1
You’re darn tootin’ we’re excited for the upcoming installment of “Fargo,” especially after promo photos from the Season 2 premiere were released by the network. FX released several images from episode 1 of the Noah Hawley-created black comedy, giving audiences a glimpse at the drama they could expect in the impending installment, inspired by the Coen Brother’s 1996 film of the same name.
The promotional images feature some of the more prominent actors from the sophomore series, including Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst. In December 2014, it was revealed that the red carpet stars would play a married couple in Season 2 of “Fargo."
Dunst, who stars as Peggy Blomquist, a “beautician with big-city dreams,” will find her character struggling with “societal expectations” in the series. Meanwhile, Plemons’ will portray Ed Blomquist, a butcher’s assistant who is supportive of his wife’s wild aspirations, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The promo photos also show off the duo’s impressive transformations into Minnesota natives.
Plemons packed on the pounds for the meat-loving role while Dunst channeled her inner eccentric self to embody the peculiar hairstylist.
"When I read the first few episodes, I was thinking to myself that I want people to giggle just a little bit to themselves when they see Peggy," Dunst said during the 2015 Summer TCA press tour. "I want them to be on Peggy's side in a way. I knew certain things, like wearing white earmuffs when I do something that's not necessarily right. I want you to giggle when you see Peggy."
Not only will audiences snicker during the upcoming series, they’ll also be blown away by the “epic” drama.
“I really felt like Noah Hawley, who is our showrunner and creator — luckily he had a great team of writers that helped him out so he did not shoulder the entire load for 10 episodes — but his vision of this show and the way that he can map out this entire epic…and it really is epic this season,” Patrick Wilson, who was cast as the younger version of Lou Solverson, gushed during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Viewers can also see his character featured in the released promo photos below, along with other key players from the Season 2 plot of "Fargo":
