  • He arrived at the police station with his four cows and an eyebrow-raising complaint
  • Along with failing to provide milk, the farmer said the cows have been kicking his wife
  • The police could only help the farmer by directing him to the veterinary hospital nearby

A farmer marched his four cows to the police station and filed a complaint against the benign animals for not providing him with enough milk. He asked police officers to take action against the cows and make the creatures mend their ways.

Raamaia, 40, who hails from India's south-western state of Karnataka, went to the police station with his complaint and said he has done everything to take care of his cows’ needs. He explained in his complaint that he takes all four of them to the fields for grazing every morning from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Then, every evening he takes them out for grazing once again between 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the farmer said.

Despite all this, Raamaia said the cows are not giving him enough milk in return, reported Deccan Herald.

“They are not giving milk for the last four days. So, police must convince them to give milk,” the farmer said.

The farmer also said that there was more to the defiant behavior his cows were displaying, according to NBC News. Not only were they refusing to produce enough milk, but they also have been kicking his wife whenever she tries to milk them, Raamaia said.

Raamaia asked the police for "justice" because he firmly believes he deserves enough milk for providing the cows with fodder and taking care of their needs.

“The cows’ milk is very dear to me and my wife. It would be the right thing for me to collect the milk. Give me justice,” the farmer said in his complaint, written in his local language.

Although the police could not file such an unusual complaint, they said it went viral on social media.

One Twitter user, @Gemini_blr, asked whether the farmer had been trying to get milk from a bull while another, @SelfDoubtist, asked, “Is someone feeding cow rights propaganda to them.”

The police officers, who received the complaint, also couldn’t help but be amused by the farmer’s unusual request.

“My staff found the whole thing quite funny,” Inspector Lakshmipathi Ramachandrappa Lambani said Thursday.

“I found it funny, too,” he added.

The police officer also said that Raamaia’s words and demeanor suggested he was under the influence of alcohol.

Officers at the police station told the farmer they couldn’t help him and asked him to take the cows to the veterinary hospital nearby, Lambani said.

“It was a very ‘different’ kind of complaint,” Lambani admitted.
