Farrah Abraham’s Boyfriend Simon Saran Responds To Her Bad Parenting Of Sophia, Defends ‘Teen Mom OG’ Star
“Teen Mom OG” star Farrah Abraham has a reputation for being a bad mother, like that time she waxed Sophia’s eyebrows while she slept. But boyfriend Simon Saran says the MTV reality star's her bad parenting moments are all caught on camera, while the good ones are left out.
During a recent episode of “Teen Mom OG,” Farrah called her 7-year-old a “heathen” and “stupid.” Simon noted that Farrah is a single mother. Sophia’s father, Derek Underwood, died in a car accident before she was born.
“She plays both the mother and father role for Sophia,” Simon said in an exclusive interview with Radar Online Friday. “It takes a lot of strength.”
Simon and Farrah have an on-again, off-again relationship and he doesn’t see himself as a father figure for Sophia, but he does look out for her. “I think Sophia and I have a different relationship,” Simon explained. “I could never be her father, but I do want to be a good role model for her. She’s a really bright kid and I think guiding her in the right direction she can accomplish amazing things. It’s all about molding kids early. Their minds are sponges.”
Even though he and Farrah have a tumultuous relationship, he likes it that way. “It’s definitely an adventure,” he said. “Some really good moments and some really awful moments. But that’s what keeps it interesting.
One “interesting” thing that happened was when Farrah kicked Simon out of her house on Easter Sunday for being on the phone. It was the same episode where she insulted her daughter’s intelligence. When Sophia didn’t get ready in time, Farrah said, “Sophia’s too stupid to get ready. It’s not my issue right now.”
Among Farrah's controversial parenting choices: She once waxed Sophia's “unibrow” while she slept, gave the child $500 from the tooth fairy, allows her to wear a full face of makeup to elementary school and created her a Snapchat account.
“Teen Mom OG” airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on MTV.
