Fashion Bug beats 'Black Friday' holiday rush, to keep over 400 stores open on Thanksgiving Day
Charming Shoppes on Tuesday said more than 400 of its Fashion Bug stores will be open November 25, 2010 on Thanksgiving Day between 8 am and 3 pm, with the exception of a Walmart store in a suburban Rochester town in New York.
The operator of Fashion Bug stores said it will help customers find the perfect holiday gift and must-have holiday party styles, fashions and accessories with everything in the store on sale with discounts in prices of up to 60 percent .
Fashion Bug, which is a women’s apparel retailer, will open all of its stores at 6 am on Black Friday, November 26, 2010 for the first time ever, with the best selection of all-day “doorbuster deals” and storewide sales on every item, it said in a statement.
“Our customers work so hard year round and the work doesn't stop Thanksgiving Day, said MaryEllen MacDowell, president, Fashion Bug in a statement.
Meanwhile, it is said that more than 88 percent of Americans will eat turkey this Thanksgiving with the average sized turkey requiring up to 4 hours to be fully cooked, which means millions of women will have plenty of time to get a jump on their holiday shopping on Thanksgiving Day!
Once the turkey is in the oven and the table is set, we encourage women to take a well-deserved break and head over to Fashion Bug for some retail therapy where she'll find her ideal holiday dress, gifts and sensational stocking stuffers for family, friends and co-workers, said MacDowell.
Fashion Bug said its “Wish, Save, Give Holiday Collection offers holiday styles and gifts for every budget and personality. It said it features current styles in sizes 6 to 30 for work, weekend and everything in between.
“From dress to business casual, and from active knits to jeans and fashion tops, outerwear to sleepwear, Fashion Bug offers fresh looks to satisfy all the lifestyle needs of today's busy woman…at unbelievable prices,” the company said in a statement.
A report in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, however, said the Victor Walmart will be the only one in New York that won't stay open overnight on Thanksgiving. Apparently, nearby homeowners had opposed the store's request to stay open all night.
