Fashion's finest might be renowned most for their beauty and success, but they surely do not hesitate to step up and give back when altruism beckons.

Charitybuzz and Christie's Auction House teamed up with fashion's finest - including the likes of Coco Rocha, Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli, Rachel Roy and Lanvin - for the Green Auction: BID to Save the Earth.

Charitybuzz's Green Auction benefits four of the world's leading environmental nonprofits: Oceana, Conservation International, Central Park Conservancy and Natural Resources Defense Council. The movement was initiated in 2010 by Christie's and is expected to raise millions of dollars in proceeds.

The theme for the third annual Green Auction: BID to Save the Earth auction, which runs March 29 through April 12, is water. Last year, the initiative raised a record-breaking $2.4 million.

The choice to focus this year's theme on water stemmed from each organization's notion that water is the source of life, and there are simple methods anyone can follow to play a part in preserving it, according to Charitybuzz. The goal of the Green Auction is to raise awareness and funds for the large-scale earth-saving initiatives programmed by each non-profit, as well as to demonstrate how easy it can be to act green in everyday routines.

On the auction block for the BID to Save the Earth are offerings from Simon Doonan, Coco Rocha, Stella McCartney, Rachel Roy, Lanvin, Fendi and Nicole Miller.
