John Cena will have a big role in “Fast and Furious 9,” Vin Diesel teased in a new behind-the-scenes video from the production set. The actor also confirmed that Oscar winners Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren will also be reprising their roles in the upcoming film.

“Fast and Furious 9” is currently in its third week of filming. Sharing an update with the fans on Instagram, Diesel, who is reprising his role as the lead Dominic Toretto, teased some details about the film.

Diesel confirmed that Theron will be back as Cipher and Mirren will be reprising her role as Magdalene Shaw in the upcoming film. Among the “few new surprises” is the character newcomer to the franchise Cena will be playing. Details about the new character, including the name, are currently being kept under wraps, but Diesel teased that the wrestler-turned-actor will “completely shine in this movie.”

The production of “Fast and Furious 9” is currently ongoing in London, but Diesel pointed out that the franchise has given him an opportunity to travel all around the world to places like the Middle East, Sahara, Canada, Europe, Cape Town, Rio, and Puerto Rico.

Diesel had some special words for the Dominican Republic. The actor said that people of that country are “magical” and “wonderful,” and he added that he loves that country.

In another behind-the-scenes video that Diesel shared online, Ludacris teased that they have “way more surprises” planned for the film that the fans are not expecting. The cast members thanked the fans for the support and added that the fans are in fact a part of the family.
