“Fast & Furious” star Jordana Brewster has announced her engagement to businessman Mason Morfit.
On Tuesday, Brewster took to Instagram to share with her fans the news of her and the tech CEO's engagement, showing off her sparkling diamond ring in the photo.
The photo shows her and Morfit cozying up on the beach. “JB soon to be JBM,” she captioned the post.
Brewster’s upcoming marriage to Morfit marks her second, as her engagement comes more than a year after she filed for divorce from film producer Andrew Form after 13 years of marriage. They share two sons, Julian, 8, and Rowan, 5.
Brewster and Morfit were first caught up in romance rumors last July, when they were seen spending time together at the beach in Santa Monica, California. Back in June, the “F9” actress opened up about meeting Morfit, whom she called “the love of her life.”
In an interview with Glamour, she revealed the couple had met four years ago when she and the ValueAct Capital CEO were still married to their partners.
“Mason and I had met once, while we were both still married, four years ago,” she told the outlet. “I took note of Mason; he was cute, charming. Shortly after that lunch, I started following him on Instagram. He started following me as well. My heart would leap as soon as he liked a post or commented on something I’d written,” she added.
She also recalled the time they reconnected in San Francisco, four days after she and Form had decided to call it quits.
“When I landed, Mason was at the bottom of the escalator, holding a sign with my name on it,” she recounted. “My heart was fluttering like a hummingbird. I felt at once super panicked but also strangely grounded. During a time when the world avoided contact when it was mandated that everyone stay six feet apart, Mason and I blended into each other. I thought, please kiss me. And he did.”
Since they reconnected, she and Morfit have started seeing each other every other week, until they started talking about a future together and how to blend their families.
“Therapists and friends urged us to slow down, to enjoy the time alone, but we knew this was right. I guess what didn’t work for me last time was working for me now,” she said.
