Father Gangs Up With Elder Son To Murder Younger Son Who Threatened To Expose Him
The mystery surrounding the "suicide" of a 24-year-old man has been unraveled after police found out that he was murdered by his father and elder brother.
Farhan Ali, hailing from the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, was found hanging at his workplace on Oct. 5, reported Ahmedabad Mirror. The accused, 65-year-old Irfan Ali, and his elder son, Tanveer, alerted police after they "found" the body inside their paint factory.
Investigators initially thought it was a suicide, and none of the family members sought an investigation into the incident.
However, the autopsy report said Farhan died due to strangulation. Police then registered a case of murder and an investigation was launched. Officials found discrepancies in the statements of the father and his elder son during interrogation.
"When the duo was interrogated, they began changing their statements, raising suspicion. However, they spilled the beans when grilled separately," said Officer Vijay Singh.
Police said Farhan was murdered by the duo after he saw his father and sister-in-law in "an objectionable position." When he threatened to disclose the secret to other family members, the father-son duo connived to finish off him to keep the secret from leaking out. They strangled the man and tied him from the ceiling to make it look like a suicide.
They were arrested Sunday and charged with murder.
A similar case was reported earlier this year in the Indian city of Bangalore wherein a man murdered his elder brother due to his alcohol issues. Unable to deal with the victim's tantrums, his father decided to get him killed. He assigned the task to his younger son, who roped in a few of his friends to do the deed. They murdered the victim and disposed of his body after severing it into pieces.
