FBI to Search Indiana Landfill for Clues on Lauren Spierer's Disappearance
Authorities are planning to search a landfill in Western Indiana for signs of Lauren Spierer, a University of Indiana student who was last seen two months ago walking home in Bloomington.
A spokesman for Republic Services, the company that runs the landfill, told the Associated Press that they had been cooperating with the Federal Bureau of Investigation's requests to inspect the landfill. The Bloomington police reportedly requested a search warrant for the landfill, which is about 55 miles away from where Spierer was last spotted, on June 16.
Spierer, 20, is from Greenburgh, N.Y. and was majoring in fashion merchandising. She was last seen on June 3, walking alone to her Bloomington apartment after a night out with friends.
