Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) continues to stop Jake (Sam Underwood) from his plan to meet up with Walker (Michael Greyeyes) in the two-part midseason finale of “Fear the Walking Dead.”

In a sneak peek from the midseason finale, Jake is crossing a difficult terrain towards the Black Hat Reservation when he notices that someone is following him. Jake runs as fast as he can in an attempt to mislead the person who is coming after him. He then hides behind a shrub with his rifle close to his chest, only to be surprised by a gun-wielding Alicia who emerges from the bushy landscape.

“What the hell are you doing here?” a shocked Jake asks Alicia as they both yield their weapons.

“The Trimbols are dead,” Alicia reveals. “After they left [the ranch] they were killed. It was Walker’s (Michael Greyeyes) people.”

When asked if she has told anyone about his plan to settle their dispute with Walker on his own, Alicia answers: “You didn’t want anyone to know, you didn’t want anyone to stop you, but this changes things. I was worried.”

“Talking to Walker right now is not a good idea,” Alicia warns Jake after confirming that the whole Trimbol clan — Vernon (Hugo Armstrong), Kathy (Ericka Kreutz), Mike (Justin Deeley) and Gretchen (Rae Gray) — were all gone. But instead of considering heading back to the ranch, the new information only gives Jake more reason to talk to Walker. “This makes it more urgent, more reason to go, not less,” Jake argues.

Because Jake has already made up his mind, Alicia offers to accompany him. Although Jake refuses, Alicia continues to follow him. Watch the sneak peek below:

In the trailer for the midseason finale, Jake and Alicia come face-to-face with Walker, but the leader of the Indian tribe is clearly not up for a peaceful negotiation. “Vacate our lands,” Walker tells the pair after striking the table.

Elsewhere in the midseason finale, Nick (Frank Dillane) joins the militia to earn Troy’s (Daniel Sharman) trust even more.

“Fear the Walking Dead” two-part midseason finale (Season 3, episodes 7 and 8) airs on Sunday, July 9 at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
