‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Season 3, Episode 4 Sneak Peek: Strand Lies To Daniel

Strand (Colman Domingo) will do anything just to get out of his cell in Season 3, episode 4 of “Fear the Walking Dead.”

In a sneak peek from the upcoming episode, Daniel (Rubén Blades) asks Strand if his daughter Ofelia (Mercedes Mason) is alive. Although Strand hasn’t seen Ofelia since Season 2, episode 9, he tells Daniel that she is alive. “We fled the compound, Madison (Kim Dickens), Alicia (Alicia Debnam-Carey) and Ofelia. She thought you were dead. We all did. But Daniel, she is alive,” the former businessman says from behind bars. “She’s hold up in a hotel down the coast, Rosarito. It would take us a day to get there, maybe less. Get me out of here and I’ll take you to her. We get there by morning. She’s waiting for you.”

While Daniel is telling the truth when he says that Ofelia fled the Mexican compound with him, he is clearly lying when he tells Daniel that his daughter is currently staying at the Rosarito Beach Hotel. Although Ofelia did arrive with Strand, Madison and Alicia in the hotel, she didn’t stay that long in the zombie-infested establishment. Instead, Ofelia abandoned the group and drove towards the U.S. by herself.

For some reason, Strand’s attempt to appeal to Daniel’s emotions doesn’t work. As seen in the trailer for Season 3, episode 4, Daniel refuses to help Strand get out of his cell.

“You will rot here,” Daniel tells Strand.

“I saved your life. You owe me!” Strand screams as Daniel walks away.

Ofelia was last seen in Season 2, episode 14, meeting Jeremiah Otto (Dayton Callie) for the first time. When asked where Ofelia is following the airing of the Season 3 premiere, showrunner Dave Erickson coyly told Entertainment Weekly: “That’s a big question. That’s what I want you to ask. Is she a prisoner at the camp? Is she out in the desert again? This is part of the interesting thing about Jeremiah.”

“Fear the Walking Dead” Season 3, episode 4, titled “100,” airs on Sunday, June 18 at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
