Fed's Evans says monetary policy still appropriate
Inflationary concerns for the United States economy are still minimal, said a top U.S. Federal Reserve official on Tuesday, adding that the country's monetary policy remains appropriate.
The comments were made by Chicago Federal Reserve Bank President Charles Evans, speaking to reporters at a media briefing in Hong Kong.
At its March policy-setting meeting, the U.S. central bank reiterated that it would keep rates extraordinarily low for an extended period.
