Felon On Parole Arrested For Armed Robbery, Sexual Assault: Police

A 37-year-old man out on parole was arrested in connection with an armed robbery and sexual assault in Fairfield, California, earlier this week.
On Thursday afternoon, Fairfield police officers arrested Dewayne Allen Wright, of Oakland, California, on suspicion of armed robbery and sexual assault stemming from an incident earlier that day in the 1800 block of West Texas Street, according to a statement from the Fairfield Police Department.
Wright was arrested without incident hours after the victim reported the incident to the police.
Wright was booked into Solano County Jail on several charges, including forced oral copulation, armed robbery, kidnapping, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of an illegal firearm and violation of parole, according to the statement.
Police said Wright has a history of violent offenses and had three outstanding felony warrants. The warrants were for an alleged assault in San Francisco, an alleged robbery in Oakland and for violation of parole out of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Police were able to track down Wright with the aid of the region's automated license plate reading system. Officers found the vehicle, a Porsche SUV, and stopped it just after 2 p.m. at the Eastbound I-80 truck scales in Cordelia.
Wright was under state-supervised parole at the time of his arrest.
Wright remains in custody on $913,333 bail, Mercury News reported, citing Solano County Jail records.
He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday in Fairfield.
Police said that, due to the nature of this case, no further details will be released.
In related news, three people were arrested Friday following a police pursuit that began in Dayton, Ohio, and ended in Fairfield, Ohio, WLWT reported.
According to the Butler County dispatch, the chase began in Dayton before heading into the Cincinnati area at around 9 p.m. on Friday.
Someone in the suspects' vehicle fired shots during the pursuit. The three individuals were arrested at around 10:30 p.m.
As of this writing, it is still unknown what triggered the pursuit that spanned multiple communities, including Middletown and Monroe, before ending in Fairfield.
