A former Texas high school teacher was arrested Wednesday after she was accused of sending explicit videos of herself to a male student on Snapchat.

According to court documents, Kelsie Koepke, 25, was charged with having an improper relationship with a student, while being employed at Paetow High School in Katy, Texas. She allegedly developed a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old in October 2017 after she met him at the testing center of the school during lunch hour.

“The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the Harris County District Attorney's Office has accepted charges of improper relationship between a teacher and a student, a second-degree felony, as well as online solicitation of a minor, a third-degree felony, for a Paetow High School paraprofessional,” Paetow High School (PHS) wrote in a letter to parents.

In the weeks before homecoming, the accused started interacting with the victim on Snapchat under the usernames "kelsie_koepke" and "Momma K.” The nature of her messages soon turned sexual. "Then, on the actual night of the Homecoming event, she sent him the first set of nude photos and videos of herself," the documents stated.

Although she apologized to the victim for sending him the explicit content on homecoming day, evidence showed that she continued to send him inappropriate pictures and videos including photos of her breasts and a clip of her pleasuring herself. Although "she instructed him not to save any of their chats" the victim “had saved the nude image and the masturbation videos to his cell phone’s memory,” documents said.

On Feb. 28, the victim reported Koepke’s behavior to the school officials. “The PHS administration was made aware of the issue through another student who noticed a conversation on social media regarding inappropriate content being shared among the staff member and a student. The District took immediate action and removed the paraprofessional from the classroom and later that day the employee was terminated from Katy ISD,” PHS’ letter read.

Katy ISD police officer, who reviewed the evidence on the victim’s mobile, said there was at least one inappropriate video sent by the defendant, where her face could be seen. On March 7, investigators reached out to Koepke to question her regarding the allegations against her.

“The suspect stated that in the Spring of 2018 a ‘student’ had added her on Snapchat and, at the time, she thought it was somebody from a dating site that she had already been sending ‘explicit’ videos and pictures of herself to… but once she realized that it was not who she thought it was after she sent it, she still kept the ‘student’ on her Snapchat wanting to ‘keep the peace’ and she ended up sending him more images,” the court documents stated.

A bond of $30,000 was set for Koepke. She was expected to appear before a judge on May 7.

In conclusion, PHS stated in their letter that they were fully cooperating with law enforcement regarding the matter. “Providing a safe and secure learning environment is and will continue to be our top priority and the District will always act swiftly when that is compromised. Likewise, we will continue to do everything we can to ensure the safety of our students,” the letter said.
