Fergie Says She Never Wanted To Split From Ex-Husband Josh Duhamel

Fergie became a tad bit emotional during her interview with Wendy Williams on “The Wendy Williams Show.”

In the trailer released exclusively to People, the singer admitted that she didn’t plan on splitting from the actor. “I wanted to stay married forever,” she said. Last month, the parents of Axl Jack announced their decision to go their separate ways one month after celebrating their eighth anniversary.

“With absolute love and respect we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year. To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family,” they said in a statement.

At that time, a source told People, “They have been leading separate lives for a long time.” Fergie and Duhamel split in February. In January of this year, the estranged couple shared a photo of themselves with their 4-year-old son on Instagram. In the caption, Duhamel revealed that it was their eighth year anniversary. He also wrote, “Love you babe.”

During Thursday’s episode of “The Wendy Williams Show,” the host will joke about Duhamel no longer being handsome since splitting from Fergie. But the “Fergalicious” singer will stop Williams from saying anything more. Instead, she said, “I love Josh, he’s the father of my child… You’re making me cry… We forever have that project and we’re doing the best we can.”

As of late, Fergie and Duhamel have not yet revealed that real reason behind their split. But multiple sources claimed that it had to do with their busy schedules. “Their schedules were so busy that it was almost a surprise when you would see them together. But Axl was always on their mind no matter what they were doing. They had a really good dynamic together. They’re both kind, nice, good people,” an insider said.

Fergie’s time was also spent mostly at the recording studio since she just released her newest album, “Double Dutchess,” last month.
