‘Feud’ Spoilers: Joan Crawford’s Secret Porn Star Past Explored In Episode 6 [RECAP]

Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) and Bette Davis’ (Susan Sarandon) old feud is making waves again due to the anthology series “Feud: Bette and Joan.” The two stars’ beef allegedly stemmed from their backstage bickering during and after the production of their 1961 film, titled “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane.”

In the latest episode of “Feud,” Hedda Hopper (Joan Davis) told Joan that she had both good and bad news. Hedda announced that was suffering from a fatal heart defect. However, she stressed that she was happy ruining the career of some the stars she deemed as less-than-moral.

Aside from revealing her illness, Hedda asked Joan about rumors that she made an appearance in a porn film. Joan denied the allegation, but she later visited her brother, Hal, whom she believed was the person behind it.

Joan and Hal did not have a good sibling relationship because he didn't like the way she treated their mother. Joan was apparently cruel to their mother and put her through a lot of abuse. This includes not allowing their mom to eat with her children and forcing her to use the servants’ entrance instead of the main one.

Joan planned to pay Hal to keep his silence. Unfortunately, he ended up dying before he was able to cash in on it. Upon hearing about his brother’s death, Joan grabbed a drink and made a call to cancel the check she handed to Hal.

On the other hand, Joan and Bette’s feud continued when the former arrived in Louisiana with no one welcoming her. She tried to shake it off, but when she called Bob to announce her arrival, he was too busy drinking champagne with Bette to care.

According to E! News, there is no evidence that Joan has ever appeared in porn when she was younger. However, MGM reportedly spent thousands of dollars buying every copy of the films “The Casting Couch” and “Velvet Lips.”

In the promo trailer for the next episode of “Feud: Bette and Joan,” titled “Abandoned,” Joan and Bette’s beef will worsen as they get into another shouting match. In one scene, Joan shouts at Bette, “The answer to feeling less attractive isn’t to make yourself uglier.” The former then replies, “I’m a character actress.”

At one point, Joan also throws a flower arrangement at Mamacita’s (Jackie Hoffman) head while she is confined in a hospital. Unsurprisingly, Mamacita will not take this lying down. “I told you the next time you throw something at my head, I leave,” Mamacita tells her.
