Fifth Harmony Alum Camila Cabello Shrugs Off Ellen DeGeneres' Joke About Replacing Her In The Group
Camila Cabello recently laughed off Ellen DeGeneres’ joke that she will be replacing the singer as the newest member of Fifth Harmony.
On her Twitter account, the 19-year-old singer joked about being replaced so soon after leaving the all-girl group in December 2016. A day ago, DeGeneres posted the latest photo of Fifth Harmony for 2017, which excludes Cabello. The talk show host photoshopped herself into the snap to make it seem like she is part of the group. However, Fifth Harmony will only consist of only four members now, namely, Dinah Jane, Normadi Kordie, Ally Brooke and Lauren Jauregui.
Cabello decided to leave Fifty Harmony after rumors swirled that she has been feuding with her fellow members. The four members of the group also signed the official statement that they released saying that Cabello will no longer be working with them starting this year. Last month, the group sat down for an interview with iHeartRadio and told radio personality Elvis Duran that they will be releasing their third album this year.
Meanwhile, even without Fifth Harmony backing her music career, it seems that Cabello doesn’t have anything to worry about. In 2015 and 2016, she released two successful collaborations – one with Shawn Mendes and the other one with Machine Gun Kelly. “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and “Bad Things” became instant hits after their release. The former made it to the top 20 songs released in the latter part of 2015, while “Bad Things” reached the 10th spot on the Hot 100 list in December 2016, according to Billboard.
Fifth Harmony was a group formed on the second season of “The X-Factor” US in 2012. Its members originally auditioned as solo performers, but were joint together by host Simon Cowell.
