Fifth Harmony's Vocals Prove Why Their New R&B-Tinged Track Is Called 'Angel'
Fifth Harmony is calling all their girls with an SOS to have some fun and it's time to listen. Literally.
When Fifth Harmony released their first song without former member Camila Cabello back in June, they proved to the world that they would be just fine as a foursome. Now, they’'e just dropped the concrete evidence via their new track, "Angel."
"Who said I was an angel," Normani Kordei wants to know when the R&B-heavy track begins. From there, the rest of the group – Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, and Ally Brooke – continue to ask the same question throughout the record, but they don't need to wait for any response because they don’t seem to really care.

The girls are miss movin’ on as they raise another question in the chorus: "When you look at me, what do you see?"
Rhetorical is the name of the game in this tune as they follow up with their own response, letting everyone know exactly what they should see: Brilliance.
"Open your eyes, I’m more brilliant than you’ll ever be."
Normani, Dinah, Lauren, and Ally know that they are worth it and know what they have to offer to the world. That’s fire vocals, sweet harmonies, killer dance moves, and beautiful brains. As if everyone didn’t already know these things, they proved it on this song. Not the dance moves, but surely that will be demonstrated in a music video.
Instead of letting themselves get confused and distracted by the departure of Camila from the group at the end of 2016, these four stood their ground and focused on giving Harmonizers exactly what they wanted – hits, hits, hits.

Their first single "Down" featuring Gucci Mane was just the first delicious sample. "Angel" is just the savory appetizer. The main dish is coming in the form of the new self-titled album, "Fifth Harmony," which is now available for pre-order on iTunes and pre-save on Spotify. It'll officially be served up on Aug. 25, which will likely become known as the day Fifth Harmony slayed the world. Yes, that holiday is celebrated multiple times per year.
While fans wait for this new album to literally and figuratively bring music to their ears, there are other ways for everyone to get their Fifth Harmony fix. A new interview with the singers can be read in the September/October issue of Seventeen featuring the group on the gorgeous cover. In it, they talk keeping their bond tight and being who they are.
Then, two days after “Fifth Harmony” arrives, the girls themselves will arrive at the MTV VMAs ready to get down and perform some music on Aug. 27.
After the award show, the crew will start rehearsing and gearing up for their Latin America tour, which begins Sept. 29 in Chile. It’s called the “PSA Tour,” as if they had any trouble getting everyone’s attention.
Not in Latin America? With everything the girls are up to, it wouldn’t be surprising if a larger tour was in the works. They’re just that dope.
Moral of the story: Don’t underestimate Dinah Jane, Ally Brooke, Lauren Jauregui, or Normani Kordei. Ever.
