'Fifty Shades Darker' Update: Eloise Mumford Dishes Out New Details, Talks About Working With Dakota Johnson
Actress Eloise Mumford, who plays Anastasia Steele's best friend and roommate Kate Kavanagh in the erotic movie “Fifty Shades of Grey,” has opened up about about working with Dakota Johnson. The 28-year-old has also dished out some details about the sequel of the movie, “Fifty Shades Darker.”
The “Lone Star” actress revealed that her character Kate will become extra protective of Anastasia's character in “Fifty Shades Darker” after she becomes aware of the nature of Anastasia and Christian Grey's relationship. “When she does find out, she is extremely worried about Anna's well-being, so that's a huge moment of change for her,” Mumford tells Glamour magazine.
The actress also revealed that she is looking forward to meeting the cast and crew of the movie because all of them bonded so well. Her character also falls into a deeper relationship with Christian's brother Elliot. “Their relationship becomes stronger and more committed, so I'm really looking forward to that,” said the actress.
Mumford also talked about her experience of working with author E.L. James, on whose best-selling book the movie is made. Contrary to popular belief that James interfered with director Sam Taylor-Johnson's work, Mumford is of the opinion that James was quite helpful on the sets. “It was great to have E.L. James on set because it really helped and if there were any questions she would be there to answer them,” Mumford said.
But at the same time she also misses Taylor-Johnson, who is not working on the sequel. “It's going to be really hard not to have her there, but we are always looking forward, but it will be big shoes to fill,” Mumford said.
She is all praises for actress Dakota Johnson, with whom she shares “great chemistry.” Mumford said that Johnson is “so much fun and super hilarious” and the two had great time together. “Fifty Shades Darker” is scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 10, 2017.
