The upcoming film adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey” is likely to get an NC-17 rating, if the movie’s screenwriter, Kelly Marcel has anything to say about it.

The 38-year-old British screenwriter described her screenplay as “raunchy” and filled with “a lot of sex” in a recent interview with Style Magazine.

She admitted that a lot of hard work went into making the erotic romance novel true to life, but promises that the film stays close to its “raunchy” roots.

“Well, there is going to be a lot of sex in the film,” she said. “It will be NC-17. It’s going to be raunchy. We are 100 percent going there,” Marcel told Style magazine.

She said that film's creators picked their favorite and least favorite scenes of the book, adding that most of what fans are anticipating is in the movie.

The book itself has received criticism for what many consider an inaccurate portrayal of BDSM, but Marcel feels the book is a love story at heart.

“Regardless of what you may think of the writing, this is a modern love story, involving two complex characters, and that’s what I’m interested in,” she told the magazine.

“I don’t care what anybody says, there is something about Christian that is old-fashioned and romantic.”

Fans are most anticipating discovering what actor will play Christian Grey, but Marcel remained mum.

Numerous actors have said they would be interested in the part, including Robert Pattinson, Ian Somerhalder and Alexander Skarsgard, but the chosen actor’s identity has remained painfully secret.

“There are shredders arriving at my house at this moment, because in L.A. my trash was gone through. Who is playing Christian, who is playing Ana – seriously, people are rabid about this thing,” Marcel told Style.

She said that she has aimed to made the film one fans will enjoy just as much as the book.

“The fans love this book, and I want them to love the film as much. I want to make them laugh and cry, to turn them on. I want this to do everything.”
