- Rolando Dy believes Amin Ayoub will easily defeat Ahmed Amir at BRAVE CF 54
- Ayoub and Amir were supposed to face each other last April, but the latter was forced to withdraw due to an injury
- Dy is eager to get back to action under the BRAVE CF banner
Hard-hitting Filipino striker Rolando Dy has made his prediction for BRAVE CF 54’s main event between BRAVE CF lightweight champion Amin Ayoub and Ahmed Amir.
“Amin (Ayoub) will win easily. (Ahmed) Amir doesn't belong there, in my opinion,” said the Filipino bluntly.
“I truly believe that Amin (Ayoub) is stylistically superior over (Ahmed) Amir. (Ahmed) Amir hasn’t fought someone near the caliber of Amin (Ayoub). It will show on fight night.”
Dy called out Amir this past April via social media, promising the 29-year-old fighter a “real fight,” but the Egyptian decided not to respond.
Meanwhile, the French lightweight titleholder previously promised the Filipino a shot at his title after both men won their respective fights at BRAVE CF 44 in November of last year.
“I don't think any of them will choose to fight me if Amin (Ayoub) retains the belt or (Ahmed) Amir wins the title,” Dy said about a possible match-up against either man.
Ayoub and Amir were first scheduled to fight at BRAVE CF 50 this past April, but the challenger pulled out a few days before, owing to a neck and shoulder injury.
Mashrabjon Ruziboev stepped in as a short-notice replacement for Amir, and Ayoub defeated him via unanimous decision in a catchweight bout.
Ayoub has remained undefeated in his past eight fights stretching back to April 2018, and it looks to stay that way if he can get away from Amir’s powerful strikes in the early minutes.
Dy remains 'hungry to fight'
Crowned as the promotion’s 2020 Fighter of the Year, Dy is very much excited to get back in the cage and face off against the best lightweights that BRAVE CF has to offer.
The Filipino last fought in the promotion against lightweight contender Abdisalam “Omok” Kubanychbek at BRAVE CF 47: Asian Domination this past March.
“As always, I am hungry to fight. I am always looking for some good competition. I don't back out, I don't make excuses, and I show up even if it’s on short notice. As long as I can make the walkout, I will fight,” said Dy.
“BRAVE CF can call me anytime because the answer will always be ‘yes and I accept.’”
