- Snow and Tyler Stanaland faced several issues in the marriage
Brittany Snow and Tyler Stanaland have decided to end their marriage just a couple of years after their wedding in 2020.
Although the actress never confirmed it, the couple's relationship is believed to have been strained after Stanaland revealed that one of his "Selling the OC" co-stars tried to kiss him off camera twice.
"They had issues before, but this is the final straw," a source told People adding that Snow "has been trying to find the best time to file for divorce" and maintain their privacy.
The "Pitch Perfect" actress shared the news Wednesday on Instagram with an image of the former couple cozied up in a subway car. "After time and consideration, Tyler and I have made the difficult decision to separate. This decision was made with love and mutual respect for one another," Snow captioned the post.
"We have realized we need to take some time and make sure we are each living our most fulfilling and authentic lives," she continued. "We started this journey as best friends and our relationship will continue to be a priority not only for us but for our dog Charlie. We sincerely appreciate your support and ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter."
The source also said that Snow never wanted her husband to be on the Netflix reality show "but he was adamant. He wanted to make a name for himself on his own terms."
"One night, Kayla (Cardona) did try and kiss me. And then it happened another night as well. And so on the show, out of respect for her, I am just kind of trying to minimize it and brush past it so that there isn't drama. We can all focus on what we should be doing," Stanaland said in his Aug. 24 appearance on the "Reality Life with Kate Casey" podcast.
"That was something where I had to kind of set some hard lines and some boundaries and reconsider the social environment a bit. Nothing happened," he added. "It was just...something that, you know, you don't do to somebody who is married."
But Cardona had a different version of the events.
"I'm not gonna flirt with someone if I don't feel like I'm getting flirt[ed] with back. If I know that someone is definitely not interested — I have a lot more confidence in myself than to just throw myself at someone for no reason," Kayla earlier told Us Weekly.
