Finally, Jack-And-Coke In A Can, But You’ll Only Be Able To Get It Here In 2022
Coca-Cola (KO) has teamed up with Tennessee whiskey maker Jack Daniels to offer a ready-to-drink Jack-and-Coke in a can.
The popular cocktail will be added to Coca-Cola’s small but growing line of alcoholic beverages, which also includes Lemon-Due, Topo Chico Hard Selzer, Schweppes Pre-Mixed Cocktails, Simply Spiked Lemonade, and Fresca Mixed.
Khalil Younes, head of flavored alcohol beverages at Coca-Cola, said in a statement, “We are strategically experimenting and learning in alcohol. We are excited about the opportunities, but we also know it will require effort and patience.”
The Jack Daniels & Coca-Cola cocktail will debut first in Mexico in late 2022 and will then roll out to other global markets, according to the beverage giant.
The Jack-and-Coke will have a 5% alcohol beverage volume, which the company said will vary depending on the market. A zero-sugar version of the cocktail will also be made available.
“This relationship brings together two classic American icons to deliver consumers a taste experience they love in a way that is consistent, convenient, and portable,” said Lawson Whiting, CEO and President of Brown-Forman Corporation (BF-B), the parent company of Jack Daniels.
Coca-Cola introduced its first ready-to-drink alcohol beverage in 2018 in Japan with Lemon-Dou. The company previously owned a winemaker in California, but Lemon-Dou was Coca-Cola’s first launch into the alcohol beverage market since the late 1970s.
As of Monday at 11:17 a.m. ET, shares of Coca-Cola were trading at $61.61, up 20 cents, or 0.33%, while shares of Brown-Forman were trading at $66.35, down $2.10, or 3.07%.
