First ‘Deadpool 2’ Trailer Teases Cable’s Arrival
“Deadpool 2” will feature the highly-anticipated arrival of Cable, but the first teaser trailer isn’t ruining his introduction. The mercenary’s face wasn’t shown, but it seems like the last second of the trailer features his body.
The “Deadpool 2” teaser is mostly a parody of artist Bob Ross. Star Ryan Reynolds is in the full Deadpool suit while painting a portrait. His lesson is interrupted by new footage from “Deadpool 2.” It’s only a brief glimpse.
The video shows returning characters like Teenage Negasonic Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), who is flipping up her middle finger, and Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), who is aiming her gun in the wrong direction. Viewers even see new additions like Domino (Zazie Beetz) and Julian Dennison’s character. They don’t, however, get a good look at Cable.
After the footage is shown, there is a nice portrait that clearly shows off Cable (Josh Brolin) at the head of a Thanksgiving table with Deadpool. After the credits roll, there is a brief clip of what sounds like a cybernetic arm. The hand grabs what appear to be pieces of an assault rifle. Fans of the comics know that Cable loves to use guns.

Cable is a mercenary from the future. It isn’t clear why he crosses paths with Deadpool, but the first photos of him hinted that he might be protecting a kid. The August promotional photos showed a teddy bear at his side, hinting that the comic book storyline of Cable protecting a little girl who is the messiah will be adapted for the big screen.
“Deadpool 2,” directed by David Leitch, will hit theaters June 1, 2018. The R-rated superhero flick is expected to do well at the box office. The first film, released in 2016, made over $780 million worldwide. It’s the second highest grossing R-rated movie in the U.S.
