The post concluded by thanking everyone who supported Shaw over the years. It also left an encouraging message reflecting how she lived her life after learning that she had cancer.

"Thank you all for your support and encouragement over the years. If there’s one thing Cheyann taught us is that no matter what battles we face, we can always find a reason to smile through them," the message read.

Shaw's mom, Darci Clark, also shared a message online about her daughter's passing. She praised Shaw for being a "true warrior."

"My heart is breaking today, our baby girl lost her long battle with ovarian cancer. She fought until the bitter end. She is a true warrior and survivor. She will be truly missed and will forever be in my heart," Darci added.

The announcement of Shaw's passing on social media received a lot of comments from her followers. Many of them sent their love to Shaw and her family while praising her for being an inspiration to them in her dedication to fitness and wellness.

Days before Christmas, Shaw shared a photo of her lying in a hospital bed with a feeding tube attached to her. Despite her condition, she was smiling and even gave a thumbs up while looking at the camera. In her post, she announced that she had been coming in and out of the hospital due to liver issue. She even joked about her situation as she asked for prayers from her supporters.

"I’m on a feeding tube which is totally okay. Your girl needed some help with food lol. I start chemo on Tuesday and should be going home today or tomorrow, just in time for Christmas. Keep the prayers coming and keeping sending all the light. #cheystrong," she wrote.

Shaw was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in August 2016. She underwent chemotherapy and surgery where her spleen, appendix, uterus and part of her colon were removed. A year later she announced that she was cancer-free, Entertainment Tonight reported.

On Jan. 15, 2020, Shaw revealed on Instagram that the cancer was back, but she was positive that she would beat it.

"I’ve had cancer in 3 out of the 4 spots before and I beat it; this time is NO DIFFERENT! I will win and I will beat this beast again," she wrote.
