‘The Flash’ Season 2, Episode 13 Synopsis Reveals Why Barry And The Team Visit Earth-2 Gorilla City [SPOILERS]
Team Flash is heading to Gorilla City to rescue Earth-2 Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh).
The synopsis for Season 2, episode 13 of “The Flash” reveals that Jesse Quick (Violett Beane) travels from Earth-2 to Earth-1 to inform the team that her dad, Harry, has been abducted. To save Harry from Gorilla City, Barry (Grant Gustin), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Julian (Tom Felton) go to Earth-2 on a rescue mission.
The quartet, however, is immediately captured and brought to Grodd (voiced by David Sobolov), who asks for their help to stop Solovar (voiced by Keith David) — the leader of Gorilla City — from his plans to invade Earth-1.
Jesse stays on Earth-1 to help Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) take down a metahuman that can control gravity. And since Cisco, Caitlin and Julian are on Earth-2, H.R. (Cavanagh) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) are forced to guide the young speedsters from S.T.A.R. Labs.
The episode is the first installment of Season 3’s Gorilla Grodd two-parter, which features a number of incredible sequences that have never been seen on the small screen before. “There are some sequences in the two episodes that are unbelievable,” executive producer Aaron Helbing told Entertainment Weekly. “They’re epic and unbelievable in scale and scope. I’ve never seen anything like it on television.”
Grodd was last seen in Season 2, episode 7, titled “Gorilla Warfare,” in which he kidnapped Caitlin and forced her to create more super-intelligent apes like him. After Cisco and Harry saved Caitlin from Grodd, Barry transported the villainous ape to a jungle in Earth-2, which will likely be revealed as Gorilla City.
Solovar, meanwhile, is a longstanding ally of The Flash in the comics. Created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino in 1959, Solovar is the leader of Gorilla City and frequently battles with Grodd, who wants to overthrow him and rule the city himself.
“The Flash” Season 3, episode 13, titled “Attack on Gorilla City,” airs on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
