‘The Flash’ Season 3 Director Kevin Smith Praises Danielle Panabaker And Carlos Valdes’ Performance In Episode 7, ‘Killer Frost’
Kevin Smith commended Danielle Panabaker and Carlos Valdes’ performance in Season 3, Episode 7 of “The Flash.”
In an Instagram post he shared on Thursday, Oct. 27, Smith gave his fans an update about the episode he directed and revealed a couple things viewers can expect from it.
“The episode of @cwtheflash I directed airs in 3 weeks! Been working on the edit with my ep editor Nathan and we’ve got it down to a PACKED 42 mins,” he wrote on the social networking site, alongside a photo of him with Panabaker and Valdes. “The episode is called #KillerFrost and @dpanabaker absolutely CRUSHES in it, while @tha_los (Valdes) has one of my favorite moments ever filmed for #TheFlash.”
While Smith didn’t spill any plot details, he did reveal that the episode is going to be an emotional one. “Get your tissues ready, Super friends: you’ll need them not just for all the Feels but for all the geekgasmic moments involving major reveals too!” he wrote. “I love this episode so much: EVERYONE gets a killer scene in which they show off their acting chops (and some folks get to show off abilities and super powers far beyond those of mortal men & women)!”
As suggested by the episode title, the hour is going to focus on Caitlin (Panabaker), who is currently struggling with her newly discovered powers, which she shares with his Earth-2 doppelganger, Killer Frost.
“The ethereal @dpanabaker takes center stage in the episode of @cwtheflash I directed and man, did she turn in some series-best work!” Smith wrote in a separate Instagram post he shared four weeks ago.
In a recent interview with “The Lowdown with Diana Madison,” Panabaker said that it was nice to have Smith back in “The Flash” director’s chair.
“Episode 7 is directed by Kevin Smith, which was such a treat,” the 29-year-old actress said. “I didn’t get to work with him very much last season when he came to do an episode (Season 2, episode 21, ‘The Runaway Dinosaur’), [but] this year I had a lot to do with him, which was great.”
“He brings such enthusiasm [to the set],” added the actress of the director. “He also really … instills confidence in us as a cast and crew and [makes us feel] that we know what we’re doing because he has such faith in the show.”
