“The Flash” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that Barry (Grant Gustin) and the rest of the team may find out some clues about Savitar’s real identity as early as Season 3, episode 18. The CW

“The Flash” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said that they know Savitar’s (voiced by Tobin Bell) real identity long before filming for Season 3 started.

“With Savitar, we know who he is under there,” Kreisberg said (via Entertainment Weekly) during the “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl” and “Legends of Tomorrow” panel at PaleyFest on Saturday afternoon. “We’ve been planning this for a while and we’re really excited about it.”

Viewers might be getting some clues about who Savitar is as early as Season 3, episode 18, which serves as the debut episode of Abra Kadabra (David Dastmalchian).

“He knows who Savitar is,” Kreisberg said of the new villain from the future, whose arrival comes with a moral conundrum. “Do Barry and the team let Abra Kadabra go in order to get Savitar’s identity? It’s a great mortality play. Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry (Grant Gustin) have a great scene, ‘Can you be a hero if you do one bad thing?’”

Gustin and his co-star Danielle Panabaker were also asked about the mystery surrounding Savitar’s identity in a recent interview with TVLine. “Slowly, different characters are going to learn who Savitar is,” said Panabaker who plays Caitlin on the show. “But I don’t know if the audience is going to be told anytime soon.”

Gustin, meanwhile, noted that the reveal of Savitar’s identity is different from previous reveals on the show. “It’s not the same as past reveals,” the actor said. “With Zoom and Reverse-Flash, the audience was starting to realize things before we all started to piece it together. But I don’t know how you would know this year. And when you do find out, it’s like, ‘Oh. My. God!’ There are really no secrets or hints leading up to it.”

In the last week’s Season 1, episode 16 of “The Flash,” it was revealed that Savitar wasn’t really a god like he claimed to be. In the episode, Jesse (Violett Beane) was able to wound Savitar with the help of H.R. (Tom Cavanagh), who figured out that the villainous speedster doesn’t need armor if he’s indeed invulnerable.
