‘The Flash’ Season 3 Spoilers: How Will Gypsy Help Cisco Realize His Full Potential As Vibe?
While Gypsy (Jessica Camacho) is going to be introduced to the world of “The Flash” as a strong opponent for Cisco (Carlos Valdes), the new character will actually help him develop his metahuman powers.
Executive producer Aaron Helbing said (via Entertainment Weekly) that viewers are “going to see Cisco really realize what he can do” as Vibe when Gypsy arrives on Earth-1.
“[Cisco] never realized the extent of his powers, and because of seeing Gypsy, he’s going to become more and more in tune with his powers and what he can do, whether it’s crossing dimensions or opening breaches much faster and quicker,” Helbing teased. “He’s going to be building confidence, and that’ll definitely play into the rest of the season of helping Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team stop Savitar from killing Iris (Candice Patton).”
The synopsis for Season 3, episode 11, titled “Dead or Alive,” reveals that inter-dimensional travel is illegal on Earth-19, so Gypsy — an Earth-19 bounty hunter with vibe powers — travels to Earth-1 to bring H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) back to their home Earth to stand trial for his crime.
H.R. surrenders, but when Barry and Cisco learn that the novelist's only hope would be to challenge Gypsy to a duel to the death, Barry and Cisco intervene, with the latter offering to fight Gypsy in his place.
In the comics, Gypsy has the powers to cast illusions that allow her to blend into the background and become invisible. She’s also a master of martial arts and can project terrifying images to the minds of her enemies. Created by Gerry Conway and Chuck Patton, Gypsy debuted in 1984’s “Justice League of America Annual” #2 — the same issue in which Vibe also made his first appearance.
“The Flash” Season 3 winter premiere (Season 3, episode 10) airs on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
