‘The Flash’ Season 4: Danielle Panabaker Talks About Danny Trejo, Katee Sackhoff
“The Flash” star Danielle Panabaker has nothing but praise for Danny Trejo and Katee Sackhoff, who have both joined the CW series in Season 4.
During an interview at Dragon Con over the Labor Day weekend in Atlanta, Panabaker opened up about what it’s been like to work with Trejo and Sackhoff on the show.
“Danny Trejo is awesome,” Panabaker said (via FanSided). “I really want his donuts and tacos. He has a donut store and a taco store in L.A. and I really want to go. The first time I met him, I went up to introduce myself and he threw open his arms and gave me a big hug and he pulled down his shirt and said, ‘Look, I have your name tattooed on my chest! That’s my daughter’s name!’”
Meanwhile, Panabaker — who plays Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost on the series — finds Sackhoff “fantastic.” “I think she is really embracing the villainess role,” Panabaker said of the “Battlestar Galactica” alum. “I feel very lucky that we were able to get her on our show and I’m so excited for her to come back.”
As announced at the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel last July, Trejo will play the role of Breacher, a feared bounty hunter from Earth-19 who also happens to be the imposing father of bounty hunter Gypsy (Jessica Camacho). Breacher’s job is to prevent any inter-dimensional traveler from threatening life on his planet — especially his daughter’s. Breacher is expected to clash with Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and the rest of Team Flash because of their connection to Gypsy.
Sackhoff, meanwhile, was cast to play the recurring role of DC Comics villain Amunet Black, who also goes by name Blacksmith. According to Entertainment Weekly, Amunet is “steely” and the “badass boss” of an underground black market for supervillains. Amunet uses every means possible, including a long list of metahumans under her control, to make sure that her forbidden venture flourishes.
Sackhoff will first appear in Season 4, episode 5, titled “Girls Night Out,” which will also feature an appearance by Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) from “Arrow.”
“The Flash” Season 4 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
