The coronavirus pandemic has shortened “The Flash” Season 6, but showrunner Eric Wallace has promised, “one of the biggest battles” of the season in the finale.

This article contains spoilers from “The Flash” Season 6 episodes.

The official summary of “The Flash” Season 6 episode 19 is out and it teases Barry opting a risky plan to rescue Iris from the Mirrorverse. Elsewhere, Ralph tries to stop Sue from making a grievous mistake that can prove to be deadly.

Showrunner Eric Wallace spoke with CBR about the finale episode and how the coronavirus pandemic affected the storyline of season 6.

Wallace stated that due to COVID-19 crisis, the season finale has changed as the team could not film the last three episodes. The season is cut from 22 episodes to 19. He explained that he likes to cut the seasons as if he is looking at them as “big movies.”

“So I look at graphic novel number two, which is what we're in the middle of now, as a movie with a three-act structure: Act One, Act Two, Act Three. That's exactly what the end of this season, fortunately for us, has become, because Episode 6.19 was the end of Act Two,” Wallace said.

He added that the end of episode 19 will see the heroes at their “lowest point.” However, he mentioned that there is still hope for them.

The showrunner teased that the last three episodes greatly accelerate the storylines. Wallace said that fans should get ready to witness one of the biggest fights and a “big cliffhanger.”
